I am one of eight grandchildren. Grandpa passed away in October 2006; grandma passed away July 1994. While sifting through my grandparents' things, I found my grandma's diaries and journals. This is a compilation of her entries, entry-by-entry, day-by-day, in the 1940's. May you enjoy reading my grandmother's thoughts and learning more about my past just as I have.

Hey...just popped over to check out the site. It looks great and I really enjoy reading through the entries and your comments! I love all the pictures you have included lately too. That just makes it come alive, if you will!
Oh, and the "Who's who" thing is great!
It's great how she notes how she washed her hair. It wasn't typically an everyday thing back then. also love that she says, "swell."
